What are Shade Nets?

Shade Nets are synthetic fabrics made out of High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) or Polypropylene. Shade Nets are most commonly used to protect plants & crops from unwanted solar radiation, extreme weather conditions, to reduce plant mortality/morbidity rates and also provide ideal conditions for growth. Shade Nets primarily provide shade from harmful radiation such as UV-rays. Shade Nets can be found in a diverse range of fabric densities between 5% to 95%. A Shade Net of 80% fabric density will only allow 20% of incident sunlight to pass through. Shade percentage may also be used for indicating how dense Shade Nets are. A Shade Net with 45% shade percentage blocks out 45% incident sunlight or allows 55% sunlight through.
